THE RITE OF MAQLÛ DESTROY THE WITCH The Rite of Maqlû is a modern enemy-focused adaptation of one of ancient Mesopotamia’s most important anti-witchcraft ritual traditions. This service is specifically intended for situations involving an enemy witch, occult practitioner, or hostile spiritual worker who is believed to be intentionally attacking, cursing, interfering with, or repeatedly targeting the client through magick. Unlike a general protection or cleansing rite, Destroy the Witch is directed at the offending practitioner and their influence. The purpose of the working is to dismantle hostile spellwork, sever spiritual access, neutralize the practitioner’s influence, and prevent continued retaliation. This modern adaptation calls upon Shamash, god of divine justice and illumination, and Ereshkigal, queen of the underworld, to expose wrongdoing, bring judgment against the offending practitioner, and remove their influence from the client’s life. What’s Included in the Rite * Effigy Destruction: An effigy representing the offending practitioner is prepared and ritually destroyed as a symbolic attack on their ability to continue harmful work. * Sacred Fire Working: Fire is used to consume hostile influence, destroy existing workings, and sever the practitioner’s connection to the client. * Counter-Sorcery & Reversal: Harmful magical influence is broken, redirected, and stripped of its hold. * Binding & Banishing: The practitioner is ritually restricted from continuing interference, retaliation, or spiritual access. * Divine Judgment: Shamash is called upon to expose and judge wrongdoing, while Ereshkigal governs severing, confinement, and removal of hostile influence. * Protection Against Retaliation: The rite concludes by reinforcing the client’s spiritual boundaries so the offending practitioner cannot easily regain access. Historically, Maqlû was a major Mesopotamian anti-witchcraft ritual series involving incantations, figurines, fire, purification, reversal, and divine intervention against harmful sorcery.
