MAQLÛ (protection) Ancient Mesopotamian Protection, Cleansing & Reversal Maqlû means “Burning.” This custom working is inspired by one of the most important surviving Mesopotamian ritual traditions for confronting hostile spiritual influence, witchcraft, harmful intentions, enemy work, and persistent interference. This is not passive protection. The Maqlû tradition was designed to identify hostile influence, break its hold, destroy its spiritual access, cleanse what remains, and prevent it from returning. For this working I will call upon Šamaš, Ea, Asalluḫi, and Girra. Šamaš stands as divine judge, exposing wrongdoing and destroying hostile magic. Ea governs purification, sacred wisdom, and the release of harmful spiritual bonds. Asalluḫi, master of exorcistic knowledge, is called to unravel, divert, and remove what has been directed against the client. Girra, the divine fire, consumes hostile workings and carries destructive influence away. The ritual is directed toward: * Breaking hostile spiritual influence and enemy work * Cleansing lingering attachments and spiritual residue * Protecting the client, children, home, and established boundaries * Preventing harmful influence from crossing those boundaries again * Turning destructive intentions away from the household * Reinforcing previous protection and separation work with new additional spellwork * Closing avenues through which unwanted influence continues to return There is actually a surviving Maqlû passage that commands hostile forces not to cross the rivers, walls, battlements, or city gate and not to approach the afflicted person. That is almost perfect for the kind of protection Sasha needs.
